Big changes
You might have noticed some big changes to X/D Loom over the last few days. That is because, after a lot of development work, we have finally released our V2 rendering engine to the web. This is the same rendering engine that powers the iPad app, and provides users with significantly more freedom and customisation when creating their diagrams.
This new engine allows diagrams created on an iPad to be edited web and vice versa. It also brings with it a whole host of new features including:
- A brand new and more flexible wiring system. You can now right-click anywhere on a wire to place a "wire point"; this point can then be dragged anywhere on the diagram.
- Image and sticky note support. Right-click to add images and sticky notes to your diagrams to help annotate them
- Component groups allow you to add backgrounds and labels to multiple components in a diagram.
- Add page links to diagrams to make navigating between pages in the same diagram easy.
- Lasso multi-select makes it easy to select and move multiple components at the same time.
- Color coding of components by category.
- Reworked fuse box and ECU components.
- And much more
All existing "legacy" diagrams have been converted to the new v2 diagram format and are available to users on both web and iPad.
Price changes
The yearly pricing has dropped from $192 USD to $150 USD. The price when billed monthly remains unchanged at $18.99/month.
